Russ's 1969 Camaro RS
1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS
235,147 number produced
454 Big Block with a Turbo 400 and Ford 9 inch narrowed reareand.
This car is being built for Hot Rod's Drag Week for 2022
There are no creature comforts...no tilt steering wheel, A/C, vents are fake, no arm rests, no radio, no cup holders, gauge lights work when they want, I recovered the old cracked dash pad so if there is an accident it will hurt less. No heater. If you want to roll the window down you have to take it off the car. We added sound deadening material but it's still loud. The glove box is empty and will show off the pin striping detail. This is meant to go fast in a straight line.
Owned since 2019
Exterior is Blue with White flames
Interior is Black and Charcoal Grey
This is a project for Drag Week 2022 weighing in at 3,000 pounds with driver.
10-point roll cage, comfortable race seats, 5-point seat belts, B&M ratchet shifter, extra gauges, flush mount glass, full frame, tubbed, coil over shocks, Optima battery, LED turn signals, lexan side windows, rear 1/4 panels extended with steel custom alcove built in, Patriot side pipes, fiberglass front clip and doors, cowl hood, one of a kind rear wing, RS tail light & grill, modified rear bumper, aluminum radiator, 15-gallon fuel cell, ceramic coated headers, 4 wheel power disc brakes.
I have completed most of the work myself at home, body & paint work, interior, and suspension. My brother Jordan is building the race motor 421 small block with super charger along with a paddle shifter. Big thank you to Mr. Simms and the high school shop class, Robin for the stitching, Steve for the loaner tools and helping hand and everyone else I didn't have room to mention.
