Bob's 1964 Ford Fairlane 500

Bob's 64 Fairlane is a classic mid 60's Ford with rounded lines and particular styling. One of 21,000 built out of the Kansas City, Kansas plant, this car was produced in Skylight Blue with Ford Medium Blue interior. It's original owner took delivery in Nebraska.

Bob's ownership started in 2012 and has updated it with a Ford 306 small block with full-length Hooker headers and backed by a C-4 automatic and newer 8.8 inch rear end with 3.55 gears. Bob's car is a more relaxed, streetable rendition of the same body used for each of the 110 famous drag-racing Thunderbolts. Bob's had some experience with small block Fords at the track, and this "baby bolt" will surely see some fun strip action.

We're sad to inform that Bob Dormois, one of our founding members and years long President, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026 after a brief illness. Some words from past president Mike Grunder is offered below.

Lord,
Today we lift up our friend Bob Dormois, a longtime ACC member, past president, racer, and a true car aficionado. Thank You for the passion, friendship, leadership, and joy he has shared with so many through the years.

Thank You for the countless memories made around engines, race tracks, conversations, and camaraderie. Bob’s love for cars was never just about the machines, it was about the people, the friendships, and the community built around them. He has left tire tracks on the hearts of many.

We are grateful for his dedication, his knowledge, and the enthusiasm he brought wherever he went. Thank You for the way he encouraged others, welcomed fellow enthusiasts, and carried the spirit of the ACC with pride and class.

Lord, bless Bob and his family with peace, strength, comfort, and the knowledge that his life and friendship truly mattered. May the roads he traveled, the races he ran, and the friendships he built continue to inspire all of us who knew him.

And may we always remember him with a smile, the sound of a healthy engine, and gratitude for the privilege of calling him our friend.

Amen.

I will see you in heaven my friend.
Mike Grunder
